Seeking one Intermediate or Senior Furniture & Lighting Designer
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Design Director on the multiple projects simultaneously, developing design direction for furniture/lighting product collections.
• Create design presentations using 3D renderings and concept imagery.
• Imagery sourcing beyond Pinterest, i.e.: vintage design books, magazines, sculpture, vintage shops, etc.
• Develop detailed drawings and 3D models for product manufacturing.
• Work with an internal team to review shop drawings and submittals for content and accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams, manufacturers, and marketing on product development and promotion.
Senior Industrial Design Lead:
• Lead multiple design projects with minimal oversight; align with Directors on vision and execution.
• Produce high-level presentations with 3D renderings, narrative, and concept imagery.
• Direct the creation of design intent drawings and 3D models for manufacturing.
• Oversee shop drawing reviews and prototype development.
• Mentor junior designers; assist in team planning and project scheduling.
• Lead meetings with manufacturers, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain communication flow and support cross-functional collaboration with marketing, interiors, and PR teams.
• Interpret contracts to ensure deliverables meet brand and partnership goals.
Qualifications
• Degree in Furniture Design or equivalent; 5-8+ years of experience in furniture/lighting product development.
• Demonstrated success bringing furniture/lighting products to market.
• Expertise in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and rendering tools like V-Ray.
• Strong sketching and storytelling skills.
• Deep knowledge of furniture and lighting manufacturing processes.
• NY-based; highly collaborative, organized, and experienced in team leadership.
