POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting in the development and execution of the sales strategy within the Brown Jordan Retail Division, this role focuses on driving growth through customer acquisition and retention, aligning with the Company’s revenue and profitability goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manage independent representative sales teams to ensure that they are advocating for and promoting the Brown Jordan brand. This requires understanding each territory and the ability to make the appropriate changes in representation when needed by finding new talent or removing those who do not meet Brown Jordan’s high standard of excellence.
•Coach, mentor, lead, motivate, and inspire the sales team, leading by example and through the establishment of clear goals, consistent feedback, and training. Recognize progress and celebrate achievements.
•Travel to meet with key clients, assist sales representatives with maintaining relationships, negotiating, and closing deals.
•Develop and implement strategic sales and marketing plans, and forecasts to achieve the company’s objectives for products and services.
•Work with BJC Brand Manager to ensure that proper training materials, brand signage and sales aids are created and effectively implemented for all associates in retail locations who will be selling Brown Jordan.
•Develop and implement merchandising standards across all of the Retail network, including but not limited to, product placement, signage, and sales aids to ensure the proper representation of Brown Jordan is achieved.
•Work with BJC Brand Manager and Division President to develop and manage sales/marketing operating budgets
•Plan and oversee product positioning, promotional activities, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
•Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards, industry, and economic trends.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Act as liaison between the retail sales department and all other company departments.
•Analyze and control expenditures of the respective brand(s) to conform to budgetary requirements.
•Develop content for and execute annual sales meetings for BJC Sales Representatives to effectively launch new products, recognize success, create culture among and motivate the team.
•Assist other departments within the organization to prepare catalogs, fabric books, sales tools, etc.
•Prepare monthly sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
•Review and analyze sales performances against sales goals in both volume and profitability with action plans to make the necessary changes.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
•Bachelor’s degree in related field.
•5-7 years relevant sales customer, front-facing experience with progressive managerial responsibilities; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Residential Outdoor or Indoor Furniture sales a strong plus.
•Strong ability to influence buying decisions and negotiate effectively; ability to close and bring about win-win solutions.
•Possess in-depth sales and marketing techniques, and financial principles.
•Must be effective at presenting information one-on-one and small group situations to retail partners, representatives, and other employees.
•The ability to respond and communicate in a professional and non-emotional manner to complaints, frustrations, or issues while supporting the company and its leadership.
•Possess a strong work ethic demonstrated by attention to detail and completion of tasks timely.
•Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
•Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in marketing, new product development and branding strategy.
•Must be able to work extended hours including some evenings and occasional weekends.
•Ability to travel as required (approximately 50%.
