Experience Collage as Personal Alchemy at Tim Clarke Design.

Collage — from the French coller, meaning “to glue” — is an art form rooted in transformation. It’s the poetic assembly of fragments: paper, texture, memory, color. By layering elements from different sources, we give rise to new stories — visual narratives that transcend the sum of their parts.

This workshop invites you to step away from perfection and into creative flow. To trust your hands, follow your intuition, and discover the unexpected beauty that emerges when materials come together in meaningful ways.

In this 4-hour experience, artist Mary will guide you through the interplay of color, form, and texture as tools of self-expression. You’ll create two 8” x 8” mixed-media pieces on cradled wood panels using paper, pencils, chalk pastels, paint, and stencils. All materials are provided, including curated pieces from Mary’s own collection. You’re encouraged to bring your own meaningful papers — letters, ticket stubs, maps, or scraps from your personal archives — to weave your story into the work.

You will leave with two finished pieces worthy of your walls, and a deeper connection to your creative instincts — and to the joy of working with your hands.

Optional but encouraged: Bring ephemera you’re open to memorializing — fragments of life, layered into art.
