Alexander Design is seeking a full-time Project Designer with 4+ years of experience to join our dynamic Los Angeles studio. The ideal candidate is a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented professional excited to contribute to high-end residential projects within a small, collaborative, and design-focused team. This role offers the opportunity to manage projects from concept through construction, with an emphasis on creative design development, and support both FF&E and installation processes. This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage projects through all phases, with emphasis on schematic design, design development, construction administration, and installation.
Collaborate with the Principal and design team to develop and present innovative design concepts.
Prepare presentations and materials for client meetings and assist in leading presentations to communicate design intent.
Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, consultants, and vendors across multiple residential projects.
Produce CAD and/or Revit drawings, renderings, and construction documentation to support design.
Review and coordinate architectural and construction documents to ensure design vision and project goals.
Participate in site visits, construction meetings, and installations, providing design direction and resolving issues as they arise.
Oversee custom furnishings by producing intent drawings, specifying materials/finishes, and reviewing shop drawings.
Develop FF&E budgets, source and procure furnishings, fixtures, and accessories, and oversee orders from procurement through installation.
Manage project team via both execution and delegation of design related tasks
SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
4+ years of experience in high-end residential design in a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program preferred.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Suite. SketchUp, 3D rendering software (Enscape, V-Ray, Podium, etc.) and/or Revit experience preferred.
Familiarity with Studio Designer and/or procurement processes preferred.
Strong knowledge of high-end materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and specifications for luxury residential applications.
Experience with construction projects, including ground-up builds and remodels.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Exceptional organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail.
Creative thinker with strong design sensibility and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and flexibility to take on varied responsibilities.
Based in the Los Angeles area (or willing to relocate) and access to a reliable vehicle.
Willingness to assist with installations, including handling accessories and small furnishings.
